Fabulous snippits ! We are nothing without humility before God and men. Before the sacrament of reconciliation, there is no doubt about my most grievous sin to be confessed: pride.

When I earlier studied the book "Humility" by Andrew Murray, this really hit me like a ton of bricks. It is surprising that this issue of pride and humility is not more often preached on Sundays.

My two cents: the apprehension of pride is a blessing that comes with age. When one is young and striving, it’s not in one’s field of view. Alas, we spurn older priests and pastors believing that they are irrelevant, while in reality, they’re more relevant than young bucks. (Even when I was in seminary, I wondered why so many churches had young “elders”.)
